サブスタンスPとの親和性が高いので, サブスタンスP受容体ともいわれる.
サブスタンスPはタキキニンNK1受容体を刺激し嘔吐を誘発する.
原則として, 副腎皮質ステロイド性薬及び5-HT3受容体遮断薬と併用して使用する.
